Roger Freedman has been teaching physics and astronomy at the University of California, Santa Barbara since 1982. He is the co-author of four textbooks: University Physics with H. D. Young (Pearson), College Physics with T. G. Ruskell, P. R. Kesten, and D. L. Tauck (Macmillan), College Physics for the AP Physics 1 Course with G. Stewart, T. G. Ruskell, and P. R. Kesten (Macmillan), and Universe with R. H. M. Geller and W. J. Kaufmann (Macmillan). He was also part of the group that founded the San Diego Comic-Con and is now on the board of San Diego Comic Fest, an annual convention with an emphasis on comic books, science fiction, and science.
